Usually between 3-6 months for the actual divorce, if it is straightforward. However issues concerning finances and children may take considerably longer. How long will my sale and purchase take? 6-8 weeks dependent upon paperwork. If I am taken to the police station am I entitled to free representation? Yes - in all circumstances you are entitled to request legal representation and under the auspices of the Duty Solicitor Scheme you will be assigned a Solicitor, who will attend at any time day or night. Alternatively if you have a Solicitor you are entitled to ask for them to attend to advise you, again free of charge. Why do I need legal advice to draw up my Will instead of doing it myself with a form from WH Smith? Your personal circumstances eg re-marriage, step-children etc may require particular consideration to ensure that appropriate provision is made for your beneficiaries acording to your wishes, and you may also require advice on efficient tax planning. My Landlord is threatening to evict me because I am in rent arrears, can you give me advice? Yes, we can check that your Landlord has followed the correct procedure in obtaining the necessary Court Order and advise you accordingly. |
